Category rank is considered for reserved category and overall rank for unreserved category. Also, overall rank considered in college in which reservation is not there.

Join the college, which you want to take admission amongst the two without worrying about the branch, because branch can be shuffled after joining the college also. Many students use to change the branch after joining the college as per their field of interest.

Hi,It totally depends on your interest that in which college you are more comfortable and interested. Both the colleges are good, still you can prefer CUSAT due to more opportunities at the time of placement. Only low paying IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys visit IEM Kolkata, while you might get more opportunities at CUSAT. Best of luck.
