Scoring such percentile in JEE Mains is a good thing. You can expect to get into some lower ranked NITs and IIITs and also you can expect some good private institutions like VIT Andhra Pradesh and SRM University so on. Also once check the information given below.

HBTU Kanpur offers limited seats in its specialised Paint Technology branch, and admission is usually through JEE Main counselling. The general category is not likely to get into NITS or IIITS since their cutoffs are far high and at 53.19 percentile the general category cannot easily get selected into NITs or IIITs. The most viable choices of yours will be the colleges which are run privately as Engineering colleges and the Government colleges at the state level where fewer marks in JEE Main or 12th-grade marks are the basis of entry. Identify colleges, which have their own entrance tests or would accept direct admission based on management quotas. Inquire to colleges of research in your own state, as it is likely to be lower cut off on state residents.

You will likely be admitted in NITs only through Home State Quota (in lower ranking branches) or you can get into good state government engineering colleges (like LDCE, Vishwakarma Govt. Engg. College) or private engineering colleges under OBC reservation through counseling with your 65 percentile in JEE Main and 83% in Class 12 (OBC category).

With 83 percentile and a 3270 ST category rank, your chances of getting a Civil Engineering seat at a government NIT or IIIT are fair, particularly in later rounds or in institutes located in the North-Eastern regions or newer NITs. You might not get the most popular campuses, but Civil branches are often available as they have slightly lower competition compared to CS or ECE. Keep your choice filling broad and do not hesitate to include spot round options.

PES University in Bangalore usually admits students through its own entrance exam (PESSAT) or through high scores in JEE Main. With a 40 percentile in JEE Main, admission through merit quota would be difficult. However, PES also offers admission through management quota, especially if you are willing to bear a higher fee, which could range between rupees six Lacs to ten Lacs per year depending on the branch. You can also attempt PESSAT to improve your chances.
