Hello Syed,
With your marks in JEE Mains, you can perhaps get admission in one if the NIT's but not too 15. For that you should score about 200+ marks. However, there is a possibility of getting admission in some obscure branch in top 15 NIT's.

If you have done your engineering in mechanical branch and have wish to appear for GATE exam in aeronautical engineering then yes you can appear for GATE exam in any branch.

Your question is very cryptic. You have only mentioned that you have passed JEE Mains. Yes, admissions to NITs are indeed based on results of JEE Mains and if you have cleared then surely you can apply.

If you want to take admission through MHCET then appear for the entrance exam and also that college will also be taking admission on the basis of JEE Mains rank. So, if you want to appear for Mains then appear for the exam.

Just keep your basic concepts clear of science and maths studied in higher/senior secondary. JEE generally asks questions on applications of basic concepts, so a clear understanding will help you a lot.
