For admission to the M.Tech Civil Engineering course the most prominent entrance exam is the GATE exam. There are approximately 326 colleges in India that give admission on the basis of the GATE exam score. You need to get excellent marks in the exam to get shortlisted for admission at popular colleges.

A few colleges accepting the GATE scores include the IITs, NITs, DTU, BITS Pilani, Jadavpur University, Thapar University, SOA University, College of Engineering Pune, and Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra).

The scorecard of JEE Main result is valid for the current session only. The candidate will not be able to use/take admission in college in the next exam session using JEE Main result scorecard. Hence, applicants who qualify for the exam are advised to appear in the counselling held by various JEE Main participating  institutes.

When two candidates score same marks in JEE Main, the NTA resolves tie by giving weightage to candidates haveing the highest marks in Maths>Physics>Chemistry. In case ties still persist, the weightage will be given to candidates with less incorrect questions in subjects in the same order.

For admissions to M.Tech courses at ACS College of Engineering, candidates are required to achieve a valid score in either GATE or K-PGCET. Therefore, candidates with the relevant scores in any of the following entrance exams can get admissions to the M.Tech course. There is no compulsion for GATE scores. However, GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for scholarships through AICTE.

JEE Main vs CUET Top B.Tech Colleges 2025. JEE Main scores are valuable for admission to top engineering colleges in India. Whereas, CUET scores are useful for admission to several other central and state universities. So if you want to write cuet you can definitely write that for a side scope or for a safer second option to get it.
