Engineering Entrance Exam

The CUET exam is the basis for admission to several UG and PG programs at AKTU; the only entrance exam that AKTU accepts for admission to B.Tech programs is JEE Main. For B.Tech admission, the UPCET test was replaced by JEE Mains. Admission to AKTU's 2024 courses offered at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels is determined by a combination of national entrance tests such as CUET, NATA, JEE Main, etc. and the candidate's merit in prior qualifying degrees. Formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) encompasses 785 institutes and 49 affiliated colleges that provide over 50 courses in UG, PG, and PhD programs spanning many disciplines and streams. A minimum of 50% in 10+2 is required for admission to Anna University's BE programme, in addition to taking the TNEA. Graduates in BE typically earn between 4.5 and 5.5 LPA, with the potential to reach 8 LPA. For BE/BTech admission, Anna University does not accept JEE Main marks; instead, admission is determined by TNEA counselling. Backward class students at Anna University are granted a 15% reservation in BE, along with other waivers for fee and minimum mark relaxations. Because of its breadth and employment prospects, biomedical engineering is the most popular engineering department at Anna University. For Tamil Nadu students, there is an additional cost reduction; nevertheless, verification of the residence certificate is necessary.
