The engineering students are awarded scholarships on the basis of certain crucial parameters, which are decided by the scholarship awarding authority. The major factor for awarding scholarships is merit, which is determined by performance in entrance or scholarship exams like JEE Main or other scholarship exams. The performance in Class 12, particularly in PCM subjects, is also an important criterion. Some scholarships are also need-based, which are awarded to students from weaker sections. Other parameters may also be taken into account while awarding engineering scholarships.

Honestly, with 91%ile and 90+ in boards, you've got a decent shot at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

CSE core might be tough at that percentile, but branches like ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, or some newer specialisations are definitely possible.

It'll depend on counselling rounds and cutoffs that year, but you're very much in the game. Don't stress too much.

The KIITEE exam is not considered very difficult. Candidates who are already preparing for the JEE Main exam or other engineering entrances can easily crack the exam if they practice enough mocks and sample papers. Moreover, a thorough revision of the topics in the KIITEE syllabus will help candidates score high on the tests.
