It really doesn't matter at all. With experiences of interviews at various PSUs, and IITs, I have came across a lot of people, who tried hard, time and again, to finally seize what they wanted out of GATE. The matter of the fact is, You must justify your stand of taking a 1-year gap. It is because, once you get through with the written exam with great ranks, what awaits you next is something, where you as a person, are judged. Once you give grounds for what you wanted, you can rise better. So, All the best !

Yes, you can get admission in Genetic Engineering in PCB group through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH-CET) entrance exam. To be eligible for the Genetic Engineering course through MH-CET, you need to have completed your 10+2 education with Physics Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects. No, an autonomous college is not the only type of college that can provide B.Tech degree programs. Both autonomous and non-autonomous colleges can offer B.Tech degree programs.
