Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture or qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE. Candidate must have secured the above-mentioned marks in all years of the qualifying degree OR b) awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree: GE/OBC/EWS: Minimum of 60% marks (OR a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale) SC/ST/PwD: CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale). B.Tech students who graduated/graduating from IITs having a CGPA of 8.00 or above (out of 10) are eligible for direct admission without having to appear in either GATE or personal interview.
Other eligibility criteria
The candidate who has a Masters's degree in Science/Arts with the mentioned percentage is also eligible to apply.

For Physics important topics are Heat and Thermodynamics Optics electrodynamics, modern Physics and mechanics are all important topics in Physics.
For Chemistry important topics are Alkanes, alkynes, polymers, carbonyls, and other organic Chemistry chapters are the most popular as per JEE Main. P-block elements and coordination compounds have become more prominent in inorganic Chemistry. Then came questions about metallurgy, chemical bonding, and so on.
For mathematics regular practice is required. Differential calculus has dominated JEE Main Mathematics question papers in recent years, followed by coordinate geometry. A lot of questions were asked about topics like integral calculus, vector analysis, 3D geometry, and so on. Other key topics that students should prepare for include Matrices and Determinants Statistics and the binomial theorem.
