GIBS does not have an additional reservation policy for students applying through CAT or MAT. Admission is based entirely upon merit, and students can apply using their scores from the national level entrance exams: CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT and GIBS 's own entrance exam. Each student will be assessed equally, through group discussions and personal interviews following their qualifying exams. The institution does not adhere to a set quota for any particular entrance exam; therefore, a student's overall performance and aptitude, as well as communication skills, will be taken into consideration. A wide range of applicants from different backgrounds will have equal opportunities for admission based on their ability and potential, rather than having admissions based upon specific exam reservations.

GIBS has a placement cell that strongly supports student placement and career direction by working with all types of recruiters. The placement cell offers training for students in communication, aptitude, and interviewing to prepare them for recruitment programs. To help students discover their strengths and potential career paths, GIBS organizes mock interviews, workshops, and other career counseling sessions. The school brings in professionals from the field to deliver guest lectures and act as mentors so that students can gain a better understanding of what employers expect. Students are also given opportunities for internships to gain practical experience prior to their final placements. This structured way of placing students allows them to graduate with self-confidence, employability, and many types of career options.

Vishwakarma University will have different cutoffs for its programs and exams in 2024, depending on which programme or exam. The cutoff percentile for General category students needing an MBA admission via CAT exams was approximately 50. Cutoffs for other types of programs, such as BArch that use NATA scores, were provided by the universities that accepted the NATA posted cutoffs. Likewise, CEED scores were used to determine cutoffs for the design programs, such as M.Des.
