Admissions for BTech at Maharaja Agrasen College of Engineering and Technology are often based on state-level entrance exams. The college follows the counseling process managed by the technical university. Some seats might also be available for direct admission based on merit. It is best to check the current year's policy.

For government colleges like SGPGIMS and KGMU, admission is through the Common Paramedical Entrance Test (CPET) conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow.

Whereas, for private colleges like Era University conduct their own written entrance test followed by a personal interview. Some colleges also accept merit based on Class 12 board marks.

ABV IIITM admissions are entrance-based and getting a seat in the institute requires students to get high scores in the exams. The JEE cutoff for BTech CSE usually is 99 percentile. However, students from SC/ ST categories or those applying for the integrated courses may have better chances with this score.

CAT is widely accepted across most the top-tier private MBA colleges in India besides all the top IIMs, but the scores alone are not enough, especially in institutes like Management Development Institute, SPJIMR, MICA, etc. There are interview rounds and candidate profile selections to go through after the CAT exam.

Not all top B schools in India, however, that are self-financed require CAT. Best would be going through our guide on Indian MBA colleges without CAT, which lists Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi, JBIMS, Mumbai, FORE School of Management, and others.
