Yes you can get direct admission to certain programs at School of Science and Humanities SRMIST Kattankulathur without specific entrance exam often based on high academic performance in Class 12, board topper status or specific quotas. While flagship courses often require entrance tests many Science & Humanities programs like BA, BSc, BCom accept direct applications based on merit.

No, while appearing for IBSAT exam, candidates are not allowed to refer the books or any material. IBSAT exam is conducted in online proctored mode. Candidates practicing any unfair means will be disqualified from the examination.

Very few reject IELTS completely. Almost all English-speaking countries accept it. Some universities in the US like TOEFL more. A few visa types in the UK need the IELTS for UKVI version only. In rare cases, countries like Japan or South Korea may prefer their own tests for some programs.
