JEE Advanced is the only entrance exam that opens the gates of IIT admissions in undergraduate courses leading to a bachelor's degree, Integrated master's degree, Bachelor-Master Dual Degree in Engineering, Science, or Architecture. Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced is a national-level exam and is the second level that the candidates need to qualify to be part of IIT alumni, the first being JEE Main.

The admission to Usha Martin University is based upon different eligibilty for various courses. For Admission to B.Tech courses, students have to ensure that they have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Also, students with a B.Sc degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or with an engineering Diploma can apply to join the B.Tech programme through the lateral entry scheme.
