Yes. A candidate's NIMCET score will be valid, but the provisional candidature may be cancelled by the institute. For admissions, the candidates are required to fulfil  the eligibility criteria as mentioned in the information brochure of NIMCET. Candidates are also advised to contact the authorities regarding their situation and know their admission status and what their next steps should be.

Candidates must very carefully select the cities as once the SET application form is submitted, they can't change city preference. They should choose the first city of preference as their hometome or where they are residing as the exam authorities will likely allot the test centres to candidates in their first city of preference. Candidates are allotted a test centre in second or third preference only if the seats have been filled or the exam centre has been cancelled at that location. The NEST merit list will be prepared by taking into account the best scores from three subjects. The total marks for which NEST 2024 exam will be conducted is 200.

Since each section carries 50 maximum marks, hence the final merit list be prepared out of 150 marks. The NEST cutoff marks will be prepared from this 150 marks only.

If you are not satisfied with the marks, you can apply for revaluation or rechecking of the paper.
The marks awarded after the rechecking/revaluation shall be considered as the final marks. Then a new marksheet will be issued to you thereafter.

If the details mentioned in your GSEB 12th result 2026 are incorrect, you must inform the school officials and get them error free. The result, marksheet and other certificates are important documents. They must contain only correct details, since they will be verified for higher education and career.

A candidate is required to score equal to or above a total Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP) to get a merit rank. The minimum admissible percentile score varies for different category candidates. For general category applicants need to score 95 percentile marks in NEST exam.

The category wise MAP is mentioned below:

CategoryMAP Marks (in Percentile)
General95
OBC90
SC/ST and Divyangjan75

Students who score less than the MAP would neither be allotted any merit rank nor be eligible for admission even though he/she secure SMAS in all sections.
