Chandigarh University does not reserve admission seats exclusively for GATE Exam 2026-qualified candidates. Admission to M.E. programs is open to all eligible students, regardless of whether they have appeared for GATE. However, when it comes to GATE fellowship benefits, the university allocates fellowships to up to 10% of the total intake seats in each M.E. program. These seats are not separate admission quotas but fellowship-eligible seats awarded to meritorious GATE-qualified students. This means GATE candidates compete among themselves for the fellowship, not for admission itself. Non-GATE students are admitted through the same aca

Yes, the GATE Exam 2026 fellowship is available for the entire duration of the M.E. program, provided the student continues to meet all fellowship conditions. The M.E programme typically spans two academic years, and the fellowship can be continued across semesters. However, continuation of the fellowship is not automatic. Students must maintain satisfactory academic performance, adhere to university regulations, and fulfill assigned teaching duties each semester. Failure to meet these conditions may lead to discontinuation of the fellowship. As the fellowship is paid for 8 months per year, students receive financial support during act

The GATE Exam 2026 fellowship at Chandigarh University is primarily merit-based, with the GATE score being the most important factor. However, it is not the only criterion. Eligible candidates must also qualify through an interview process, where their teaching aptitude and subject understanding are evaluated. Only students who perform well in both GATE score ranking and the interview stage are awarded the fellowship. This ensures that fellowship recipients are not only academically strong but also capable of contributing as teaching assistants. Additionally, the fellowship is limited to 10% of total M.E. seats, so meeting the minimum

Yes, you can apply to Chandigarh University before GATE Exam 2026 results are deaclared. The university allows candidates to initiate the admission process based on their acdemic eligibility.Students who are confident about qualifying GATE can submit their applications early and provide the GATE scorecard later during the fellowship processing stage. This early application approach helps students secure admission seats without waiting for exam results. Once the GATE results are declared, eligible candidates can update their records to be considered for the GATE fellowship, subject to merit and availability.

At Chandigarh University, the GATE Exam 2026 score is used primarily for scholarship and fellowship purposes, not for admission priority. Admission to M.E. programs is based on eligibility criteria, including educational qualifications and minimum marks, rather than GATE ranking. Students with or without GATE are considered equally for admission, provided they meet the required academic conditions. Having a high GATE score does not automatically place a student higher in the admission queue or guarantee preference for a particular branch. However, GATE scores play a crucial role when it comes to the GATE fellowship, which is limited to

Yes, if a student does not have a GATE exam 2026 score, chandigarh university provides an alternative admission pathway CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test). CUCET allows non GATE candidates to demonstrate their academic aptitude and become eligble for admission as well as certain scholarships. Apart from CUCET, students may also be considered based on their graduation marks, especially under the Scholarship scheme that rewards high academic performance at the undergraduate level. This flexinle admission structure ensures that lack of a GATE score does not become a barrier to entry. Thus students have multiple routes dire

No, there is no upper age limit for GATE Exam 2026-qualified candidates applying for M.E. programs at Chandigarh University. The university follows an inclusive admission policy that focuses on academic eligibility rather than age criteria. As long as a candidate meets the required educational qualifications, such as holding a relevant bachelor's degree with the minimum prescribed marks, they are eligible to apply, irrespective of age. This applies to both GATE-qualified and non-GATE candidates. The absence of an age restriction benefits working professionals, career switchers, and candidates returning to academics after a gap.
