Low SAT or ACT scores (if compulsorily required by a university) might not get compensated by a statement of purpose. However, if you write a compelling SOP of undergraduate courses, your drive, motivation, and accomplishments will be highlighted and you will greatly improve your chances of getting selected in your desired UG score. Extracurricular activities and admissions essays will help you offset a low SAT/ACT score. You must concentrate on developing a complete application that adheres to the precise requirements and instructions given by the university.

Yes, GATE has increasingly inclined towards MSQs (Multiple select questions) and NAT (Numerical Aptitude Questions), as it evaluates candidate's conceptual clarity than the rote memorisation. Based on the previous year's GATE question papers and GATE analysis- we can expect alteast 30 to 40% of the questions to be MSQs and NATs, and here's why -
- These type of questions are more challenging and demand precise understanding.
- Requires conceptual clarity with accuracy in attempting these questions.
BONUS TIP: Practice as many online GATE mock tests and past question papers to enhance speed and time management skills.
