Patna University BLET 2023: Patna University will start the BLET application process in the months of July or August (tentatively) for the admission to the 3-year LLB course in online mode. The application form for BLET 2023 will be available on the official website, patnauniversity.org.in. 

The Patna BLET 2023 exam is no longer conducted for admission to the 3-year LLB programme. Thus, the scores obtained by the aspirants in their UG exams will be considered for the admissions to the LLB course at Patna Law College.

What is BLET?

The Bachelor of Law Entrance Test (BLET) exam is conducted by Patna Law College, affiliated with Patna University (PU) for admission to the three-year LLB course offered by it. The exam is conducted in a pen-paper mode for a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. BLET has MCQ type questions. A total of 100 MCQs are asked, 50 from general knowledge and 25 each from current affairs and legal aptitude. The final admission to candidates is provided on the basis of a merit list prepared on basis of the entrance test results, eligibility criteria and other conditions. Candidates must secure at least 33% marks in BLET to qualify for admission.

BLET 2023 Highlights

Note: Out of the total number of seats available for admission, 55% of seats are reserved for PU graduates and the remaining 45% for candidates (including PU students) in order of merit, informs the official website.

BLET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

All candidates who possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering or any other discipline from a recognised university fulfil Patna University BLET 2023 eligibility criteria. However, candidates also need to secure a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the bachelor’s honours exam or 55% aggregate marks in the pass course exam in order to meet Patna University BLET eligibility criteria.

Candidates appearing for their final year graduation exams are also eligible to apply. However, such candidates must present their final year exam result document before the stipulated date of Patna University admissions in the LLB course.

Age criteria: Candidates should not be more than 30 years in age (35 years for SC/ ST/ OBC category candidates) as on the date stipulated by the varsity in order to meet the eligibility criteria.

BLET 2023 Process

Step 1: Fill the BLET Application Form

The application form for the BLET exam has been replaced by the merit list-based admission process for admission to the LLB course at Patna University, Bihar. As a result, candidates must fill out the admission form available on PU's website in order to enrol in the three-year LLB programme now. The application link for admission to the LLB course will be updated on this page once Patna University starts the application process. Online mode Candidates can pay the application fee in online mode using debit card/ credit card/ net banking

Offline mode - Candidates can pay the application fee through bank challan payable at any branch of Allahabad Bank. 

Step 2: Check for the Merit Lists

Patna University will prepare merit lists for the BLET 2023 candidates based on scores obtained by them in their UG exams. Based on this merit lists, candidates will be shortlisted for the LLB programme. Candidates can check Patna University BLET merit lists on the official website of Patna Law College by entering their application ID. 

Step 3: Seat alllotment 

Based on the positions of candidates on the merit lists, seats will be allotted to them to study the 3-year LLB course.

Step 4: BLET Counselling

To confirm their seats, candidates are required to attend the counselling process organised by Patna Law College. Candidates must bring their educational certificates and ID proofs to the PU BLET counseling. 

Step 5: Pay the application fee for admission to the LLB course at Patna University. Take the challan related to the admission fee. Create multiple copies of this challan for the future reference.
