Admission to the B.Des programme at GLS University is conducted on the basis of the candidate's performance in

  1. GLS DAT entrance exam
  2. Personal Interaction

The candidate needs to ensure that they appear in all the stages of the admission process. If the candidate misses any admission stage, he or she will be disqualified.

The B, Des programme offers specialisation in Apparel Design, Environment & Space Design, Product Design, and Accessories & Jewelery Design. The candidate can select their programme of study at the time of admission.

Admission to the above courses will be through the GLS DAT entrance exam. Note that during seat allotment, the candidate with higher merit rank will be given preference.

GLS DAT exam will be conducted in both online and offline modes. Candidate can select the preferred mode of exam at the time of filling out the online application form. 

When preparing for the exam, make sure to carefully go through the detailed exam pattern and question paper structure.

Candidates are required to pay INR 2,000 as registration fee, Candidates can pay the fee through online mode or through Cash/Demand Draft or Cheque such that it is from a nationalised bank and is drawn in favour of “GLS Institute of Design” and is payable at Ahmedabad.

Note that the registration fee once paid will not be refunded.

No, there is no upper or lower age limit for GLS DAT exam. So, candidates of any age group can apply. But they should meet the eligibility criteria of institute.

GLS Institute of Design has not specified any syllabus for GLS DAT. However, some topics that aspirants should consider studying are Colour Terminology, Optical Illusion, Elements & Principles of Design, Picture Analysis, Drawing Fundamentals, Understanding Light & Shade etc.

The candidate needs to strictly follow the official exam pattern.

IICD 2026 exam will have two parts

Part A: Entrance Test : General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test 

Part B: Material, Color & Conceptual Test and  Personal Interview

The participating institutes of IICD 2025 currently has an intake of 180 seats for the B.Des program. Admission to these seats will be strictly based on IICD 2025 merit rank.

The candidate can select their specialization at the time of counseling and seat allotment. Once a seat has been allocated, the candidate will have to pay the seat-acceptance fee to confirm it.
