Candidates seeking admission to the B.Des programme offered by the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) first needs to appear in the SEED 2024 written exam. Shortlisted candidates have to next appear in a PRPI round. The final merit list for admission to SID will be prepared based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED), Portfolio Review, PRPI Task and Personal Interaction.

Note that if the candidate doesn’t participate in the PRPI round, he or she will not be considered for admission. The allotment of seats to the B.Des programme will be based on the merit rank of the candidate.

The syllabus for the design aptitude test is prescribed by the exam conducting authority, the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID). With this, the exam pattern is also decided by it. The candidate must note that SID reserves the right to make any changes it deems necessary to the exam syllabus. So, the candidate must consult the updated exam pattern when strating their exam preparation. Note that typically wholesale changes to the exam syllabus is not done.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) doesn’t frequently change the syllabus for the SEED exam. That being said SID reserves the right to make any changes to the syllabus keeping in the mind the changing dynamics of design as an academic discipline. The syllabus for the SEED exam 2024 will be released online at sid.edu.in. It will contain the section-wise topics that candidates need to practice for the design entrance exam.

The candidate can download the official syllabus of SEED 2024 from the official website of the Symbiosis Institute of Design - sid.edu.in. In the homepage of SID, click on “Admission Process” under “Programmes.” The window that opens will contain information on the SEED 2024 syllabus. The candidate can note down the syllabus. The other option is to visit our page and download the updated syllabus for the SEED 2024 exam. 

The SEED 2024 syllabus will contain the topics from which questions will be asked in the exam.

Ideally, a digital portfolio should be a compilation of the best works showcasing the candidate's skills, passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. One must make sure to include the work he/ she is the proudest of. Try to be different and include unique and interesting things. Note that if the admission committee feels that any unfair means was adopted in the making of your portfolio, the candidature of the candidfate may be cancelled. The maximum size of the portfolio should be 5 MB. Click good quality pictures of these and compile them in a Power Point Presentation of maximum 15 slides.

NIFT Bangalore has not released course-wise placement data. As per external sources, the highest package offered was INR 5 LPA during NIFT Bengaluru during the placement drive 2022. The cutoff for BDes in Textile Design at NIFT Bangalore is 701 for the year 2022. Admission to the BDes Textile Design programme is entrance based. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam. NIFT cutoff depends on variables like seat matrix, category of the candidate, total applications, category, Common Merit Rank (CMR) of the candidate in NIFT 2023, and the popularity (or ranking) of the institute. If any of these variables change, the cut-off would also change.
