It would be my suggestion to go for organic chemistry instead go for food science and technology. It would better if you choose Organic chemistry instead of food science bcoz in companies every body asks you the question why did you join in food science instead of chemistry or related groups. Then you should in a position to explain those questions. My suggestion is to go for M.Sc chemistry or organic chemistry. Opportunities in chem & Organic chem are really good in the pharma industry. You can pursue B.Sc in chemistry or botany.

In the food industry, research and development is for science students, but for a commerce student, marketing and finance is the best option in the food industry.

Sure, you will be able to do so if you are able to clear the cut-off.
If you will not be able to get good marks in maths and have an elective subject as a sixth one then you can apply.
And the sixth one should be selected in class 11th only according to me. Also, it is only available in some schools.
