As per the official notification, candidates seeking admission into FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata will have to go through the following process:
Step 1: JET Entrance Exam
The first step is the FTII JET exam for which candidates will have to appear in it after receiving their admit cards and qualify it. The written test will be conducted for 2 papers and the time duration will be of three hours. The test will be conducted in offline (pen and paper test) mode. The question paper will be into two parts – MCQ (multiple-choice questions) and Descriptive.

The reservation of seats in each course is decided as per government rules. The classification of seats for various reserve categories in the FTII Pune is as per the below table:

Durint accepting the seats online, candidates has to opt for any one of the options either ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ for the choice of course for subsequent round (s), if any, of JSA 2023 – 24. In case candidate has been allocated seat as per the candidate’s first choice, above option will not be available and the only option available will be Freeze. In such a situation, candidate may either accept and Freeze the offered seat, or may reject the offered seat. Non choosing of Freeze option in this case will be considered as rejection of the offered seat and the candidate will not be considered for seat allo

As per the admission process of JET exam, candidates first need to quaify in teh FTII JETe exam and subsequent rounds of the Orientation / Interview process. On the basis of performance in JET, the list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the Institute. The institute will send interview letters to the shortlisted candidates directly. Students final selection will be based on their JET scores, and performance in the orientation & interviews rounds. Starting on February 18, 2024, the FTII JET registration procedure was underway. The deadline for registration was March 17, 2024. Applicants may complete the FTII JET application form 2024 online by providing their personal information and paying the application cost either online or by demand draft. The application process for the FTII JET will take around one month.
