The Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, also known as GNIT Kolkata, was found in 2003 by the JIS Group as a private institute of Sodepur, Kolkata. The college has since been recognised by national bodies such as the AIU and the UGC. The GNIT college serves as an autonomous institute affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT formerly WBUT) and has also been accredited by the NAAC with an A+ Grade as well as the NBA.

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology affiliated with the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. It is also known as GNIT Kolkata. The college is recognised by AIU and the UGC. The Week rated the institute 157 for "BTech" Course. At the UG level BTech, BCA, BBA & BSc are offered. M.Tech & MCA are offered at the PG level. Diploma Courses in Engineering are also offered by the institute. Overall it is a good college for students interested in doing courses in engineering field.

While application fees for Guru Nanak Institute of Technology admissions are not clearly mentioned students must pay application fees for the required entrance exams such WBJEE, JEE Main, WBJEE JELET, etc.
This fee can be paid online through Net Banking while candidates are applying for the required exam. The university also has separate admission fees in its fee structure alongside other one-time charges.

The documents shown here are required for Guru Nanak Institute of Technology admissions:
- Entrance Exam score card (includes WBJEE, JEE Main, WBJEE JELET, etc.).
- Passing certificate of the qualifying exam (either Class 12 and 10 or bachelor's/ master's degree as the case may be).
- Statement of marks at the qualifying examination and migration certificate (only for candidates passing Bachelor's/ Master's degree from other universities).
- Government-issued ID proof (Aadhaar card, passport, etc.)
- Transfer Certificate from the institute last attended

The mode of application at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is online with students able to apply online through the college admissions portal so long as they complete the course eligibility.
Students must apply after they receive the entrance exam scores that is required for the courses though in the case of merit based admissions students can still apply before they give the final examination so long as they complete the course eligibility within a certain time frame.

Admission to the B.E. and B.E. (Lateral) offered will be done based on the candidate's performance in MHT-CET/JEE Mains and admission to M.Tech will be based on valid scores in GATE. Some of the top recruiters that recruit GNIT students include Cognizant, IBM, DELL, Infosys among various others.

For of all Given a Entrance Exam who conducted by west Bangla govt. That is WB JECA Entrance Exam who's clear and good rank is came then you get councelling for admission. Not a top for admission easy process.
