In India, Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT) is generally regarded as a Tier 2 engineering college.
Tier 1 universities are often those regarded as being among the best in the nation, such the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and a few other esteemed colleges.
While generally excellent, Tier 2 universities might not have the same resources or recognition as Tier 1 colleges.

In both colleges, students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. Companies like Amazon, , Wipro, Capgemini, TCS visit NIT Narula Institute of Technology whereas companies like Accenture, TCS, juspay visit GNIT. Both colleges are equal in terms of the average package which is around INR 4 LPA. But the highest package in GNIT i.e., 26lpa is more than that in NIT Narula Institute of Technology i.e., INR 18 LPA. The placement is also quite similar in both colleges; around 70-75% of students got placed in 2023.

Guru Nanak Institute of Technology offers MBA for a duration of two years in full-time mode. The MBA programme is offered across three specialisations HR, MArketing, and Finance. Candidates are required to appear for the state and national level exams for admission to the MBA programme. Bachelor degree in any stream is the eligibility criteria for the MBA programme.

The candidate, if admitted, will have to clear the subjects of Engineering Mechanics and Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing of the 1st year Degree Course in Engineering/Technology along with their second year subjects. Candidate must be citizen of India. The above mentioned upper age limit is for B.Sc. candidates as on 31.12.2018. There is no upper age limit for Diploma holders in Engineering/ Technology. |

The qualifying degree obtained by the Distance Mode Program/ Open Distance Learning (ODL) should have recognition by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE and DEC/DEB as per UGC Regulations of 2013. Final year appearing students may also apply on provisional basis. The minimum age of the candidates should be 19 years as on the date of notification (Candidates whose date of Birth up to 30th MARCH, 2004). No maximum age limit. |
