The college accepts WBJEE, WBJEE JELET, GPAT, NEET entrance scores, followed by counseling round for admisison to BPhrama, BPharma Lateral, MPhrama and PharmD, respecticely. The college offers admission to BPharma, MPharma and PharmaD is based on an entrance exam followed by counselling round, accepted by the college. Students interested in admission to any of these courses must appear for the entrance exam conducted by the university. Further, the college offers merit based admision to DPharma. Additionally, the applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria to secure admission. Such as UG students must complete their Class 10 and Class 12 with 50% aggregate and PG students must have a UG degree with 50% aggregate.

The eligibility criteria for Haldia Institute of Pharmacy is differ from one course to another. To be eligible for a UG, and PhD course, applicants must have completed Class 10 and Class 12 in PCMB with 50% aggregate from a recognised board. For PG courses, applicants must have pass BPharma degree with at least 55% aggregate.
