Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Chennai offers BTech and BSc programmes at the UG level. HIMT Chennai admission to the UG courses is determined by candidates' ranks in IMUCET, while for other programs, HIMT administers an entrance examination. Successful candidates in the respective exams proceed to an interview and medical examination for final selection. Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, Chennai is not too much costly .The campus and infrastructure is well built. The courses fees is around INR 4 Lacs to INR 13 lakh including the mess and hostel. If you get scholarship the tuition fees will be less and you can there easily with INR 3 lakh to INR 10 lakh. The costs also depend on which course you gonna take. You can also check course wise fees on Shiksha.com or college website.

Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training (HIMT Chennai) is a private institute,  located in Kilpauk, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has four campuses in Kilpauk,  Tidel Park,  Kalpakkam, and Vizag. Established in 1998,  HIMT is the only Institute in India to offer the maximum courses (90+) approved by the DG of Shipping. The institute is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. HIMT Chennai is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and the Ministry of Shipping (Government of India) with a sanctioned intake of 60 students for each course.

The latest cutoff information for the B.Sc. Nautical Science, HIMT Chennai - opening and closing rank of the 2024 admission in Nautical Science at HIMT Chennai is 169, but the closing rank for that year is 127, while for the SC, the opening rank is 118 and closing rank 65. ST, in this case, opening rank is 109 with closing rank 64. IMU CET scores are given as per eligibility criteria of which is not less than 60% at Class 12 level for PCM.
