Yes, HIMT Chennai does offer a BSc course for the duration of three years. The campus only offers one specialisation in the BSc course, i.e., Nautical Science. Further, the course is divided into six semesters and offered in full-time mode. To get admission into this course, candidates must complete the basic eligibility requirement and secure valid scores in the entrance exam.

No, candidates are not allowed to get admission into the BTech course without valid IMUCET scores. According to the official website of the college and other official sources, IMUCET scores are mandatory to get admission into undergraduate engineering courses at HIMT Chennai. Moreover, the college does not accept any other entrance examination score apart from IMU CET.

To get admission into the BTech course at HIMT Chennai, IMUCET scores are compulsory. The college only offers one specialisation in the BTech course, i.e., Marine Engineering, and the college is affiliated with the Indian Maritime University. Thus, for marine courses, IMU only accepts relevant IMU CET scores, and HIMT Chennai follows the rules and regulations for the BTech course according to the affiliating university.

No, direct admission is not available for BTech courses at HIMT Chennai. To get admission, candidates must follow the whole admission procedure, which includes completion of eligibility criteria, appearing in the entrance exam, release of merit, document verification, seat confirmation, etc. Moreover, the provision of direct admission is not mentioned on the official website of the college.

The eligibility requirements and admission process of both IMU Kolkata and HIMT Chennai are almost the same. The basic requirement that candidates must fulfil is that applicants must complete their Class 12 from the PCM stream with an aggregate of 60% and a minimum of 50% marks in English in Class 10 & 12, and the IMUCET 2025 rank is mandatory.

Now, IMU Kolkata is one of the campuses of the Indian Maritime University, whereas HIMT Chennai is affiliated with IMU. Moreover, to compare which college is easier to get enrolled in a BTech course, applicants can compare the following factors:

The IMU CET syllabus for admission to BTech at HIMT Chennai includes the multiple-choice questions that are based on the subjects candidates have studied in their Class 12- Physics, Chemistry anf Mathematics. Moreover, the number of questions asked in the entrance exam is 200 multiple-choice questions. Yes, to get admitted to HIMT Chennai's BTech programme, the IMU CET is required. The IMU CET results are accepted for admission to BTech programmes at all HIMT campuses. Therefore, applicants must complete the IMU CET application form and pay the application fee to get admission into an undergraduate engineering course. Further, the college conducts the rest admission process as per the candidates' ranks in IMU CET.

Yes, a medical certificate is compulsory to get admission into BTech courses at HIMT Chennai. Candidates need to produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by a D.G. Shipping-approved doctor. This document is required to be submitted at the time of admission, when the applicant is selected. This BTech course is offered in Marine Engineering specialisation.
