Nehru Arts and Science College has not released its 2024 placements report as yet. However, the 2023 placement statistics are available. As per the report, the major recruiting companies who participated during NASC placements included Infosys, Paytm, TCS, Cognizant, ZIFO and many others.

As per the NIRF report 2024, the median package offered to UG (3-year) students during NASC Coimbatore 2023 placements was INR 2.52 LPA. In 2022, the median package was INR 2.2 LPA. Earlier, the median package offered during 2021 placements was INR 2.85 LPA.

Nehru Arts and Science College BA placements show notable trends from 2021-2023. In the year 2021, the median package stood at INR 2.85 LPA. However, it decreased to INR 2.2 LPA in 2022.Remarkably, the college showed improvement in the year 2023 with a 12% hike in the median package and a 22.5% hike in the number of students placed.

Open competition seats refer to the seats that are allocated purely based on merit in the qualifying examination. Nehru Arts and Science College follows the seat reservation policy formed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. In the reservation policy, 31% of the total seats are reserved for ‘Open Competition’.

Some of these elective subjects include Disaster and Risk Management, Anti Money Laundering, Institute Industry Linkage. Nehru Arts and Science College BA curriculum aims for students to acquire knowledge of the fundamentals of Criminology that have emerged in relation to explaining criminal behavior and crime causation. Some of the subjects included in the three years course are Fundamentals of Criminology, Social Problems and Legislations, Penology and Correctional Administration, Fundamentals of Forensic Science, Research Methodology and Statistics in Criminology, Environmental Studies etc. Each semester contains of few open skills based electives designed to make students industry ready.

Nehru Arts and Science College selections for BA courses are made purely based on merit in Class 12. Once the application process is completed, college authorities produce a rank list based on the Class 12 marks of the applicants. Shortlisted candidates are then informed via mail/phone about the further procedure. These shortlisted candidates are then called for a One-to-One meeting/interview with the Dean/Principal of NASC. After a successful interview, students receive the admit card. You need to pass the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). After that you need to gain teaching experience in Economics by working as a guest lecturer or teaching assistant.

After processing through all the applications, NASC ranks applicants based on merit. The college then invites the Shortlisted students for One-to-one meeting with the Dean/Principal of the college. These students must carry the following documents for verification purposes:

  • Class 12 marksheet
  • HSC certificates
  • Identity proof (Aadhaar Card/Driving License/PAN card)
  • Certificate of Migration (In case the HSC Board is other than Tamil Nadu)

These documents will be verified by the college authorities on the day of the interview itself.
