An overall score of 7.5 is required for IELTS with 7.0 in all skills. For TOEFL, an overall score of 103 is required with R = 24, L = 22, S = 25, and W = 24 in each section. If you belong to a country where English is not the official language, then you need to provide proof of your English-language proficiency through IELTS, TOEFL, etc. They are mandatory exams for those students whose first language is not English.

For the different levels of courses, the minimum IELTS score requirement has been set differently. There are certain programs that may need a higher score. Following are the scores mandatory for different course levels: Undergraduate (BA, BAcc, BEng, BSc): 5.5 - 6.0. Postgraduate Taught (MA, MSc): 5.5 - 6.0. Postgraduate Research (MRes, MPhil, PhD, DBA, DProf): 6.0 - 6.5.

Internet-based TOEFL (IBT): Minimum 90. The student should also have obtained at least 20 points each in the listening, speaking, reading and writing sections. IELTS: Minimum overall band score: 6.5. The individual component score cannot be lesser than 6.0.

International students who are coming to study in Queensland require a valid IELTS score for admission. A minimum of 6.5 in IELTS with 6.0 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking, and Listening must be attained to be eligible for admission to the University of Queensland. Apart from IELTS, the University of Queensland also accepts scores of TOEFL, PTE, and Duolingo. In case the students wish to get an exemption, they can put in a request with the University of Queensland while applying only.

If the applicants do not meet the English language waiver at Aston Uni, then they need to submit English language proficiency scores. For the same purpose, the university accepts IELTS scores. The overall IELTS score which is required varies as per the course levels, and the score range is between 6.0 - 7.0. It is advised to check the score requirement as applicable for the particular course.
