The candidates can download the ESE (IES) admit card 2024 from the official website of UPSC in the manner given below:

  • Visit the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in
  • Navigate to the “E-Admit cards” link for various UPSC exams
  • Select IES 2024 exam admit card link
  • Carefully read the instructions mentioned and take a printout of the same
  • Now, submit the details as required and press enter
  • IES 2024 admit card will be displayed on the screen
  • Download IES 2024 admit card and take two printouts of it
  • Check all the details mentioned and in case of discrepancy immediately inform the authorities at UPSC.

The Union Public Service Commission releases its UPSC exam calendar one year in advance and follow it in letter and spirit. The Commission mention the notification and exam dates for all of its exam in the calendar. The UPSC exam calendar 2024 was released online on May 10, 2023.

The Commission will also release the UPSC exam calendar 2025 in the first fortnight of May.

The Union Public Service Commission releases the Tie-Resolution principle in the IES cutoff pdf. The Commission mentions the following in the cutoff pdf: 

Wherever two or more candidates have secured equal aggregate marks in ESE the tie(s) have been resolved in accordance with the principles approved by the Commission, viz.
(i) The candidates with more marks in subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test may be ranked higher;
(ii) In case the total marks in the subject/technical papers plus marks of Personality Test are equal, thecandidate who is senior in age may be ranked higher.

The Union Public Service Commission conduct the IES prelims exam in offline mode. The Commission prepares the IES answer key and compare the answers of the candidates with it. With comparing, the Commission calculate the marks of the candidates by awarding 2 marks for each correct question and deducting 0.6 marks for each incorrect answer.

The Commission arrange the candidates in order of their merit in their category. The candidates from other category can be counted in unreserve category if they score equal or better marks than the Unreserved Category candidate. The Union Public Service Commission releases the IES cutoff after the declaration of the final result. The Commission do not release the answer key and cutoff with the prelims result. The candidates can download the IES 2024 cutoff in the following manner:

  • Go to the official website of UPSC – upsc.gov.in
  • Click on the ‘Examination’ tab given at the top
  • A drop list will appear, Click on the Cutoff link appearing on the list
  • The ESE Cutoff PDF link will appear in the list
  • Click on the link and get the ESE cutoff for all the categories and phases
