You have to clear cat cut off, perform well in interview.
If your CAT score is same is that of an engineer guy (I am not saying science, because there are a few people who are from science background other than engineers) your probability of getting into IIM is high. All IIMs give weightage for academic diversity and in a few IIMs like Trichy, there are different weightage for each background and commerce background has highest weightage.
The next big category after engineering background is from commerce background. (Percentage of engineers in IIMs start from 76%, then 10% is more than enough for second place and most of IIMs engineers accounts for more than 76%).
Participate in competitions, Do well in cat, prepare well for PI - revise all things you studied in B.Com, remember your graduation scores matters a lot.

Eligibility criteria of IPM Program at IIM-Indore for year 2019-24 batch: Candidate should have passed 10th and 12th with 60% of marks. Candidate should have passed 12th in year 2017/ 2018 or appearing in 2019.
Age : Should have born on or after 01 August 1999.
Selection Process :
The students undergo a rigorous selection process:
An application form aimed at understanding the students proficiency in academics, as well as in co-curricular activities is filled up by the aspirant.
An entrance examination follows, to test the applicants aptitude, logical reasoning and proficiency in English and Mathematics. Shortlisted candidates appear for personal interviews. The interview panel comprises well qualified professors from IIM Indore and other prestigious institutions. The interview judges the students level of confidence, communication skills, general awareness, persuasion skills and knowledge.
IIM Indore admits around 120 students to the IPM every year.
