IIT Eligibility

You have indeed received good percentile in IIT JEE Mains examination. However your 50% in class 12th may put some restrictions on your getting admission to many colleges across India government or private or both. Best score in GATE entrance is the best available option to get admission in any IIT.

I can only say that a job is not a bad choice too. But if you really want to go forward with your education and you really have that learning spark towards any field then you should pursue that first. If you really want to learn about things in a particular field then go ahead for that. Here, I can say that go ahead with M.Tech plan. A job is a thing which you can do after PG too.

To be on safer side, it would be better to get 90%+ in class 12th Board exams. The eligibility is just 60%, in order to get into IIT or NIT with that score you should score high in Mains.

IIT JAM is the mandatory exam for admission in IIT for M.Sc. With minimum 55% marks in Bachelor degree in general category, 50 % marks for SC/ST.

Yes, you are eligible. The IITs accept all graduate degrees. SJMSOM (IIT Bombay), VGSOM (IIT Kharagpur) etc. are good.
