IIT Jammu cutoff 2026 has been declared for the first round regarding admission to the MSc course. The cutoff was released for different All India categories based on IIT JAM entrance exam.
For the General AI category, candidates needed to secure a rank ranging between 621 and 705. The lower the rank is from 705, the higher the chances of admission.
For the OBC AI category, the maximum rank admissible was 1049. For the SC, EWS and ST AI categories, the maximum rank acceptable in the first round was 2310, 1054 and 3805, respectively. To know more, students can click here.

IIT Jammu cutoff 2026 has been announced for round 1 regarding admission to the MSc course and its branches. The cutoff was declared for different All India quota categories.
For the General AI category, the round 1 cutoff ranged from 621 to 705, wherein M.Sc.in Physics came out as the toughest course for admission. To know the round 1 cutoff for other categories, see the table below.

No, IIT Jammu offers seats to candidates based on their entrance exam scores. Admission to BTech and M.Tech is based on JEE advanced and GATE scores, respectively. The selection for MSc programmes is based on IIT JAM score. Candidates need to pass any of the accepted exam for PhD. Aspirants are selected for BS based on JEE Advanced scores of the applicants. Hence, direct admission is not possible for UG, PG and PhD courses.

Aspirants must pass Master's degree in Engineering/Technology or a Master's degree by Research in Engineering /Technology to apply for PhD programme at IIT Jammu.
Candidates who have completed a four-year UG degree with GATE score or Master's degree in Science (with a good academic record) and a valid GATE / UGC-CSIR NET (JRF or LS) /GPAT/ NBHM/ ICMR (JS) / ICAR (JS) or equivalent qualification can also apply.

No, aspirants must pass Class 12 with a minimum of 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to apply for BTech programme at IIT Jammu. Candidates must also pass JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced to get a seat in the BTech programme.

For the General category, the JEE Advanced Round 1 closing ranks ranged between 6738 and 15757, with Computer Science and Engineering being the most competitive for admission. Admissions to the different BTech, BSc, M.Tech and MSc courses of Indian Institute of Technology Jammu will depend on entrance exam scores such as JEE Mains, GATE, JEE Advanced, etc. But it is difficult to say whether getting into IIIT Jammu is tough or easy and will depend on the:
- Candidate's level of preparation
- Competition
- Available seats
- Exam Difficulty
