IIT Jammu total tuition fee for the BTech course is INR 8 lakh. The total tuition fee for the M.Tech course is INR 80,000. The fee for the MSc course is INR 26,000. Expensive or not, depends on person to person. Those students who find the fee expensive must apply for the scholarships.

The mode of IIT Jammu course admissions is online. Admission to various courses is based on entrance exam scores such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and merit. Candidates willing to be admitted to any of the programmes offered at IIT Jammu must fill out the application for the prescribed entrance exams, based on which they will be selected for the further IIT Jammu admission process. Students applying through JEE Main must follow the application process mentioned below:

IIT Jammu is a public/government college, which is an institute of national importance that was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India, in 2016. Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu (IIT Jammu Campus) is one of the most prestigious Engineering institutes in Jammu and Kashmir. In 2025, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff was relatively less competitive for admission as compared to that of IIT Goa for students belonging to the General AI quota. However, as compared to IIT Bhilai, for CSE admission in the General category, the JEE Advanced cutoff range was more competitive for IIT Jammu.
The CSE cutoff ranged between 5626 and 6242 for IIT Bhilai, while for IIT Goa, it ranged from 5626 to 6242. For IIT Jammu, the cutoff ranks were between 5988 and 6651 for CSE admission in the General category.

The IIT Jammu JEE Advanced cutoff concluded after Round 6 of the seat allotment result for BTech admission across multiple specialisations. For the General AI quota, the cutoff ranks ranged between 5988 and 18156, including all the rounds. Please note that the cutoff range varies across different categories. Yes, you will get CSE at IIT Jammu with a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of 6000 if you belong to the General AI quota. However, you have to wait till the last round, as the cutoff ranks are generally higher in the initial rounds. For the unreserved category, the IIT Jammu CSE cutoff 2025 was 5988 in the first round. In the last round, the cutoff rank closed at 6651. Therefore, the probability of you getting CSE with a 6000 rank is high in the last round for admission. Please note that the cutoff ranks vary every year for each round. So target a rank lower than 6000 to improve your chances of admission. Refer to the table below for
