IIT Jammu is a public/government college, which is an institute of national importance that was established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India, in 2016. In 2018, IIT Jammu shifted the primary operations from its temporary campus in Paloura to the main campus in Jagti, Nagrota. At present, IIT Jammu, through 11 departments, offers PG, UG, PhD, and other courses to students. These courses are provided across Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and various other streams.

No, JEE Main 2024 dates for admission to IIT Jammu are not out yet. It is expected that JEE Main 2024 notification will be released in the first week of December. The admission to MTech at IIT Jammu is entrance-based. Candidates are required to appear for GATE exam and secure a good score. A cutoff list is then released to declare the minimum score required for selection. Candidates who meet the cutoff score become eligible for participation in COAP counselling.
