Yes, students can get admission in IIT Roorkee without JEE scores. But, this is possible for non-BTech courses, such as MSc, MBA, M.Arch, BArch, etc. If students are seeking BTech admission, then JEE scores are mandatory.

At IIT Roorkee, students are selected on an entrance basis. Students have to go through the selection rounds including entrance tests + counselling to get admission. The selection process for some of the popular courses is as below:

IIT Roorkee eligibility is different for each course. Students have to meet the basic eligibility to get admission in the institute. The general eligibility is as below:

  • IIT Roorkee UG eligibility – Class 12 from a recognised board
  • IIT Roorkee PG eligibility – Graduation in relevant field from a recognised university

Yes IIT Roorkee good for M.E./M.Tech. The institute offers 41 MTech specialisations along for Engineering graduates. All these MTech specialisations are offered for a duration of two years and is divided into a semester pattern. IIT Roorkee admission 2021 to MTech programme is based on a valid GATE score obtained by eligible candidates. The seat allotment process is then carried out through COAP Counselling.

To get admission in IIT Roorkee, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute selects students on an entrance basis. Students have to submit scores of JEE/ IIT JAM/ GATE, etc. and go through counselling process. Selected students have to pay the admission fees to complete the process.

IIT Roorkee admission 2025 is primarily entrance-based. The college accepts several entrance exams for admission to its various courses, such as JEE Advanced, JoSAA, IIT JAM, GATE, etc. Further, candidates seeking admission to the BTech programme at IIT Roorkee must fill the application form for JEE (Main) through the official website of the National Testing Agency. The application fee for boys is INR 625 and INR 325 for girls.

For students belonging to the General AI quota, most of the BTech branches remained open till the last round for admission at IIT Roorkee. The cutoffs of different branches vary across rounds and categories. Some of the BTech branches, such as CSE, ECE, Civil, and Mechanical, etc., reflected a rise in the last round, closing ranks as compared to initial rounds, indicating IIT Roorkee seats remained vacant till the last round for BTech admission. Admission to B.Tech programs at IIT Roorkee requires candidates to first clear JEE Main, and then qualify JEE Advanced through JoSAA counselling.

Candidates must fulfill at least one of the following conditions, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects (in the year they first appeared in the Class XII exam):

1. A minimum of 75% aggregate marks in Class XII board exams. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the minimum is 65%.

2. Being among the top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII board exam.
