Automobile is a branch of engineering which deals with the study of how to design, manufacture and operate automobiles like buses, cars, bikes, trucks, tractors etc. and their respective subsystems (Parts).
It also deals with repairing and servicing vehicles.
Automobile engineering is the division of vehicle engineering.It uses Mechanical , Software and Electronic Engineering together to produce, design and operate automobiles like trucks, motorbikes etc.
Scope of Automobile Engineering in India:
Particularly in India, we have large scope for the Automobile Engineering in India. The automobile sector is increasing day by day due to which we need large number of automobile engineers. On the increasing demand of cars, the car companies show their full interest to setup car companies in various states of India. Many foreign car companies competing with one another to setup their firm in India. The need for the car is increasing geometrically apart from Indian car company Tata motors other foreign companies like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, Chevrolet, BMW and many more earning huge money from Indian market. As India is the second largest country of the world so it can give a large market for the cars produced in India. The automobile sector is getting glamor in the present world so it need large number of Automobile Engineers in India.
According to PayScale India, an automobile engineer can earn anywhere between Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 600,000 per annum including average bonuses and commissions received on the job. The highest salaries were paid by vehicle manufacturers whereas product development engineering firms paid a lot less to automobile engineers they hired. A division head with 18 years' experience can make anything from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 30 lakh per annum.
Future in Automobile Engineering :
As the vehicles after being launched in the market also needs improvement so it is the duty of an automobile engineer to improve the vehicle in response to customer's feedback. Due to demand and passion on vehicles, automobile engineer has lots of opportunities in India as well as in abroad also. Therefore taking Automobile Engineering as a career option will be an interesting, innovative and beneficial field in the engineering.
