The IIFT DILR section has 30 questions in total. To prepare for these topics, candidates need to first learn the types of questions and their key elements. LR questions are mostly like a puzzle where you have to uncover a pattern and to complete the series. This requires a bit of analytical and a bit of logical deduction. No, there is no change in IIFT syllabus for the 2024 exam. The exam will have the same pattern and subjects as per the IIFT 2024 exam, i.e. Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. Candidates can start their exam preparation from March onwards to be able to cover the entire syllabus for the exam. 

The Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension section of IIFT exam has maximum weightage. It carries 35 questions and 105 marks. There is negative marking of -1 in this section. This section has a Reading Comprehension passages which are tough and time taking. So, it is very critical to choose only those questions which you can answer correctly. Quantitative Aptitude has 25 questions, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning has 30 questions and General Awareness section has 20 questions.

The VARC section of IIFT exam includes Reading Comprehension passages, Identify the Synonym, Identify Grammatically Correct/Incorrect Sentence, One Word Substitution, Jumbled Paragraphs, etc. 

The LRDI section of IIFT exam includes Line Graph & Bar, Bar Graph & Line, Table, Pie Chart & Table, Circular Arrangement, Tournaments, Scheduling, Linear Arrangement, Coding and Puzzle

The important topics of Quantitative Aptitude section of IIFT exam include Arithmetic, Geometry, Algebra, Modern Mathematics, Numbers

The General Awareness questions are asked from Current Affairs and Static GK

The IIFT entrance exam is conducted in about 63 cities across India. Candidates can select up to four cities in the application for test centre allotment. The IIFT test centre will be allotted to every candidate in the first city of preference. The IIFT exam is held in Vijaywada, Visakhapatnam, Guwahati, Patna, Bhilai, Bilaspur, Raipur, Delhi, Panaji, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hissar, Shimla, Jammu, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bengaluru, Hubli, Mangaluru, Mysore, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik, Pune, Thane, Shillong, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Sambalpur, Puducherry, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Patiala, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Chennai, Coimbatore, Vellore, Hyderabad, Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Noida, Dehradun, Haldwani, Durgapur, Kolkata and Siliguri.

Candidates have to upload the following documents with the IIFT application form:

• Recent passport-size photo against light colour background
• The photo should not be more than 3 months’ old
• Scanned signature with a black pen on a white background
• Category certificate (SC/ST/PwD certificate if applicable)
• Photo ID issued by the Government of India

Apart from uploading these documents, candidates will need certain other document to fill the IIFT application form without errors. Candidates must keep by their side, class 10 mark sheet, class 12 mark sheet, graduation mark sheet, address proof, date of birth certificate and net banking details.

IIFT form correction window will be opened after the conclusion of application process. The form correction dates will be announced along with the registration schedule, which is expected in September 2023. During that period, candidate will be allowed to update the following details in their IIFT 2024 application form:

• Photo
• Signature
• Mistake in identification information
• Educational information
• Double fee payment

No other field of the IIFT application form 2024 will be editable. Thus, candidates must fill their IIFT application forms carefully in the first attempt itself. They should cross check each and every field of the application form before submitting the form.

No, there is no discount in IIFT application fees for OBC candidates. Only SC/ST/PwD candidates can avail discount on IIFT application fee. As per the latest notification, the IIFT entrance exam application fee for OBC candidates is INR 2,500, same as that for General category candidates. The fee amount that the SC/ST/PwD candidates have to pay is INR 1,250. Every candidate has to pay the fee at the time of application form submission and in online mode only. The IIFT fee payment is to be done via debit or credit card or net banking. Candidates must note that the IIFT application fee is non-refundable and until the fee is paid, the IIFT application form will not be accepted.

No, there is no age bar on appearing in IIFT entrance exam. Any candidate with a bachelor's degree from a recognised university having scored a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate can appear for IIFT entrance exam. The minimum score criteria for SC/ST/PwD candidates is 45 per cent aggregate. Final year graduation students can also appear in the exam. The exam is for MBA degree so a fresh graduate as well as a working professionals of junior, middle or senior levels can also appear for the exam. In fact, candidates with work experience are given preference over fresh graduates during the selection rounds. Candidates can appear for the IIFT entrance exam multiple times as well.

The IIFT entrance exam will not be conducted this year, for admission to the batch of 2025-27. The selection of candidates will be be based on CAT 2024 scores. 

Till 2022, the National Testing Agency (NTA) used to conduct the entrance exam on behalf of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) Delhi. The NTA had been conducting the IIFT entrance exam since 2019. The IIFT exam pattern, syllabus, fees, eligibility criteria and fees, etc. were determined by the institute. The NTA only conducted online registration and the exam and announced the IIFT result. The NTA was also the sole authority for accepting or rejecting candidature, allotment of test centres, managing arrangements at the exam centre, checking response sheets, examining answer keys and objections.

After the IIFT result announcement by the NTA, the institute would take over for admission and selection process which includes, release of cut offs, written assessment, extempore, personal interview. Now, the selection process will be conducted after CAT 2024 result announcement.
