During the final year of BSc in Zoology. After that, I received an invitation to apply for M.Tech in IIT-Delhi. But, unfortunately, to pursue M.Tech degree, one should have B.Tech or MSc degree in relevant subjects. Thus, even after qualifying GATE during my bachelor's, I couldn't join or at least apply for M.Tech in any of the IITs.

With a GATE score of 500+ it can be a bit difficult to get admission into IISc Bengaluru. However, it can also depend on various factors, such as availability of the seats, candidates appeared for the exam, difficulty level of the question paper. The COAP counselling will start from May 12 onwards. Read here for more details - https://www.shiksha.com/news/engineering-gate-2025-coap-counselling-schedule-out-blogId-193758

No, although a caste validity certificate might not be specifically needed, IISc normally demands a valid SC certificate for admission.  State and category-specific criteria, however, differ.  To prevent problems during the admissions process, it is best to check with the admissions office at IISc.

For 2025 cutoff information of M.Sc in Chemical Sciences at IISc Bangalore, we should go through the previous cutoffs alsl.

For 2023 in GATE, General cutoff was 600, cutoff of OBC was 500 and for SC/ST was 350.

For 2024, General cutiff was 700, cutiff for OBC was 500 and for SC/ST, it was 400

.

We can expect average cutiff for 2025 be 750-800, for OBC (500) and for SC/ST it maybe 400-450
