It is extremely doubtful that a person can get into IIIT Delhi CSE with a rank of 38k SC. In 2025 JEE Main, SC category closing rank in CSE (Outside Delhi) was found to be 44134, whereas in Home State it was 109168. This is however inclusive of all IIIT Delhi B.Tech courses. In the case of pure CSE, the cutoffs are lower. The SC category closing rank (Other State) to obtain B.Tech CSE in 2025 was 44134 and it was 109168 (Home State). When you are in these ranges, it might be difficult to get CSE particularly because of its demand. Other specializations in Computer Science, such as CS+AI or CS+Applied Math may give you more opportunitie

Yes, if you are admitted through Computer Science and Bioscience at IIIT Delhi and hold a BPL card, you are eligible for a fee waiver year, which is typically for the complete 4 years of your undergraduate programme provided you meet the criteria for the IIIT Delhi

IIIT Delhi provides good placements to its studnets. As on September 2025, the overall placement rate recorded during the placement drive 2025 was 88.3%.

If you are getting any Tier 1 NIT or elite IIT go for it, otherwise IIIT Delhi would be a great choice for you because it has the prime location, infrastructure, placements, etc. to make your college life extraordinary. IIT Delhi has NAAC 'A' accreditation and placements of CS or CS sub branch is also 90+ %.

For OBC category students, the JAC Delhi Round 4 closing ranks varied between 8143 and 16954, with Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence being the most competitive for admission.
