IIIT Delhi is one of the top IIITs in India. The placement in the institute is also very impressive at 95 percent every year . Aspiring students must fulfil certain eligibility requirements and adhere to the specified selection procedure in order to be granted admission to IIIT Delhi's M.Tech programme. A BE/BTech in any field or a PG Degree in Science, Mathematics, IT, Computers, or MCA from an accredited university is required for eligibility. The minimum cumulative score is 65% for some specialisations, such as CSE, and increases to 75% for reserved categories. The specialisation determines the selection procedure. GATE/PGCAT-IIITD scores are essential for M.Tech programmes in CSE and ECE, while GAT-B and an online interview for CB (DBT) or GATE paired with an interview are required for Computational Biology.

Enrollment in IIIT D B.Tech programmes is exclusively available through JAC Delhi counselling. JoSAA consultation is not available for admission to the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-Delhi). Therefore, in order to get admitted to IIIT D for B.Tech in 2024, students must register for JAC Delhi 2024 counselling. For admission to BE/B.Tech and B.Arch degree programmes offered by five technical universities/institutes of the Government of the National Capital Territory, Delhi, Joint Admission Counselling Delhi (JAC Delhi) conducts counselling. Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) are some of these institutes/universities.

For admissions to the BTech programme at IIIT Delhi in 2023, there were two primary tracks to consider: admissions through the Joint Admission Counselling and admissions through the IIIT Delhi admission process.

Common eligibility criteria for both tracks:

• Passing Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 70% marks in five subjects. These subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• Securing at least 70% marks in Mathematics specifically.

There were however, some nuances in the selection process:

• JAC Admissions considered scores from the JEE Main exam. Competitive scores were crucial for securing a seat.
• IIIT Delhi Admissions was for a limited number of seats in specific programs (BTech in Computer Science and Design (CSD) and BTech in Civil Engineering with Specialization in Seismic Design (CSSS).

Candidates must have cleared class 12 from a recognised board with at least a 70% cumulative grade in 5 subjects, including maths, chemistry, and physics. It is also necessary to fulfill the prerequisites for the particular course. The main factor determining admission to the B.Tech programme at IIIT Delhi is the JEE Mains result. On the other hand, UCEED rank and class 12 marks may be used to determine admission to certain programs for students residing in Delhi. Candidates may still apply to IIIT Delhi for particular courses even if they do not have a valid JEE Main score.
