In terms of education, Interior Design typically requires a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in interior design, while Industrial Design may require a degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or civil engineering.

The job opportunities also differ, with interior designers finding work in architectural firms, builders, and other related fields, while industrial designers often work in manufacturing firms or as freelancers.

The counseling for UCEED 2026 will be conducted online as a Joint Seat Allocation process. The counseling will be conducted in a centralized manner.

IIT Bombay will conduct counseling registration from March 2026. All candidates who qualify in the UCEED 2026 exam will be eligible to register for counseling.

The allotment of seats for admission to the B.Des programme offered by participating colleges is based on the following parameters:

  • UCEED 2026 merit rank of the candidate
  • College option selected during registration.

Yes you can get admission to B.Des at NIF Global Andheri with 75 percentile in UCEED. However, you need to take Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) with percentile equal to or more than 75 to get admission to NIF Deccan, Pune. Additionally, states that the major admission in reputed B.Des colleges are based on UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam), and the UCEED marks between 200-250 are good enough for getting top design colleges and some of the flagship courses of reputed colleges.

(Note: only the candidates qualifying the UCEED part A cut-off will be qualified to go for part B ).
