The basic eligibility to pursue interior design course is to pass 12th in any stream. There is no age limit. Admission will be on the basis of your score in the institute's entrance exam and interview thereafter. There are many common entrance examination for design like:
*National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam
*National Level Entrance Aptitude Test (NLAT)
*National Entrance Examination for Design (NEED)
*NID entrance test
*NIFT entrance exam
*School of Fashion Technology (SOFT) entrance exam
Interior Design requires professional experience and training and certification by the National Council for Interior Design

Definitely, Interior is the design field where an expert is required to create a positive area for work or living.
Though, initially you would be required to work with established designer. Then, work parallel for yourself on small commercial projects and institutional projects to put a good name in industry.

There is no specific course for Home interior designing.You get the complete knowledge and understanding of interior part in B.Sc- Interior Design programme which offered by almost every university in India.
