The universityi has two separate on-campus hostels for boys and girls. The hostels are equipped with all the basic facilities for students.

Jadavpur University offers fee waivers in the form of full and half freeships to needy and meritorious students who cannot afford their fees. The scholarships are offered on the basis of recommendations of departments. A maximum of 10 percent of students is covered under the full freeship scheme. The University also offers stipends on a means-cum-merit basis. Around 80 stipends are distributed among the needy and meritorious students out of which one-fourth is for the first-year students.
