B.Tech DS from IIT Roorkee is the good option against the Dual degree from IIT Mumbai. However if your son is interested in research and higher studies, then can go for IIT Mumbai for dual degree course.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at IIT Bhilai - Indian Institute of Technology has been increasing in the recent years. In 2021, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 12665. In 2022, it increased to 14425. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 4743 to 4913 for OBC, 2340 to 2449 for SC, 2340 to 1116 for ST, 1968 to 2111 for EWS. This trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
