No, there is no break in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 examination. The examination is conducted continuously for three hours (180 minute) straight.

According to the examination pattern by National Testing Agency (NTA), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main has a total of 90 questions for each subject - Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. 

The question paper is divided into two sections, section A  and B for each subject. Section A consist of 20 questions based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern . Followed by 10 questions in section B based on Numerical Value Based questions. Section A is compulsary, followed by Section B where candidate can choose any 5 from the respective 10 questions.

The duration of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is 75 minutes .

As per the conducting body of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) MAIN, National Testing Agency ( NTA) conducts the examination completely on computer based test mode for all courses, however for course B.Arch, the paper is conducted offline due to the drawing section of the architectural course.

JEE Main 2026 exam pattern has been released by the NTA. As per exam pattern, the JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) exam will consist of 75 questions, 25 each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics. Out of 25 questions, 20 will be MCQs and 5 will be NAV. Students need to answer all 75 questions. JEE Main paper 2A for B.Arch consists of 77 questions of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 2 from Drawing. In Paper 2B for BPlan total questions are 100 of which 25 are from Mathematics, 50 from General Aptitude and 25 from Planning.

The question paper will have no internal choices within questions and total duration of exam

JEE Main difficulty level is similar to class 12 board exams. Syllabus of JEE Main is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. The questions asked in exam are tricky and need an in-depth understanding of subjects. They need to have conceptual understanding of every topic to score well in exam. Those who study NCERT can get a decent score in JEE Mains.

JEE Main question paper is in English, Hindi and language selected when you filled application form. In total, JEE Main is in 13 languages and you can select any language out of available options. You cannot switch language of question paper during exam.
