The JEE Main 2026 Chemistry syllabus is based on the Class 11 and 12 NCERT syllabi, with some topics removed in 2024. It is divided into three sections: Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry.

-Physical Chemistry includes concepts such as matter, stoichiometry, atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, solutions, equilibrium, redox reactions, and chemical kinetics.

-Inorganic Chemistry covers periodic trends, p-Block elements, d- and f-Block elements, and coordination compounds.

The JEE Main syllabus for 2024 includes a total of 64 chapters across three subjects: 16 chapters in Mathematics, 21 chapters in Physics, and 28 chapters in Chemistry.

There is no determined weightage of chapters or topics of Class 11th and 12th, however some topics are definitely weighted higher than other. Those are listed below:

Physics: Work, Energy, and Power Current Electricity, Heat, Work, and Internal Energy Conductors, Motion of System of Particles and Rigid Body Magnetic effects of current & Magnetism AC Generator & Transformer Concept of Magnetic Field Permanent Magnets, Kinematics, Electric Charges & their Conservation, Electric Dipole, Work, Energy, and Power, Current Electricity, Heat, Work, and Internal Energy, Conductors.

The detailed syllabus for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is available on the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting body of the examination. Candidates can visit the official website and download the pdf for the examination or visit Shiksha's JEE Main 2024 Syllabus article and download the pdf from there as well. JEE Main is conducted for multiple courses and the syllabus is different for each course. The syllabus of JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech) includes class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics topics. For JEE Main paper 2A B.Arch the syllabus consists of Mathematics, General Aptitude and Drawing. Similarly, for JEE Main Paper 2B B. Plan the syllabus is Mathematics, General Aptitude and Planning. Candidates can check and download the detailed topics-wise JEE Main syllabus on the Shiksha page as well as on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Mains syllabus can be completed in 6 months considering that almost every topic of JEE syllabus is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. However, completing the syllabus does not mean that candidates will get a good score. JEE Main exam tests your conceptual and analytical understanding of topics. To get a good score, you need to have good understanding of core concepts and also use to of applying them in solving numerical questions.
