No. For admission to colleges in UP, candidates have to particiapte in UPTAC counselling via JEE Main scores.

There is no fee to register for JoSAA counselling. However,  Upon receiving a seat for the first time, candidates must remit the seat acceptance fee in the respective round.

No, separate counselling is not held for  NITs, IIITs and GFTIs admission. A single counselling process is held - JoSAA.

The JoSAA counselling process is held at the national level and is completely online. The counselling is held in five or six rounds every year, and each round includes seat allotment, seat confirmation by candidates, online reporting at the allotted institute, and payment of fees.

Check the important documents needed for JEE Main counselling below:

  1. Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate or Aadhaar Card or Birth Certificate
  2. Class XII Mark Sheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)
  3. JEE Main 2026 admit card
  4. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable
  5. Original Certificate for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by competent authority.
  6. Original Certificate for persons having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing, if applicable
  7. Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details

For DTU (Delhi Technological University) and NSIT/NSUT admissions through JEE Main:

  • All India General (CRL) Rank is considered for General category seats.

  • All India OBC-NCL Rank is considered for OBC category seats.

The expected counselling rounds for the JEE Main counselling process could be conducted in 6 rounds going as per last year's counselling process. All candidates with a valid JEE Main score are eligible to participate in JoSSA for admission to various BTech courses. The counselling process includes registration, online filling and locking of choices, seat allotment, where students can choose between freeze, float or slide option, after which verification of documents is required and physical reporting to the allotted institution.

The admission to BTech and BTech courses has been started through JEE Main. Additionally, the institute has released the Round 1 seat allotment result wherein B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering closing rank stood at 61724 for the General AI quota. The overall cutoff for 61724 and 79077 for the General AI quota.
