For entry to B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering of Indira Gandhi Engineering College (IGEC), Sagar, the cut-off in 2023 was between an opening rank of 358,703 and a closing rank of 810,281 for home state students. This would imply that the candidates with a JEE Main percentile of around 60–70 could have prospects of admission.

Please be reminded that cutoff ranks may differ every year due to variables like the number of examinees, number of available seats, and difficulty of exams.

With an OBC rank of 18,400 in JEE Mains, you can think of colleges such as NIT Agartala, NIT Goa, NIT Hamirpur, and GFTIs like BIT Mesra and Assam University. Private universities such as Chandigarh University and KL University provide good placements with well-paying packages. Look for state counseling and branch flexibility to improve your prospects.

With a JEE Main rank of 735,318, securing admission to the best institutions such as NITs, IIITs, or GFTIs is extremely unlikely. Yet, many private engineering colleges take JEE Main scores into account for admissions. Colleges such as Amity University, Lovely Professional University, Chitkara University, and Graphic Era University take JEE Main scores into account along with their own entrance criteria. Some state-level engineering colleges might also provide admissions through JEE Main scores, subject to individual cutoff trends of the concerned colleges.
