A score around 220-240+ is a good score to get into NITs. NIT - Surathkal, Warangal, Trichy, Surat, Bhopal, Jaipur are the top NITs to look for admission.

Hello Shivam,
You can join Indian Navy as an officer after +2 by appearing for NDA entrance examination conducted by UPSC. Eligibility criteria for Indian Navy is PCM at +2 stage from a recognised board. There are other means of joining Navy as an officer also. Please refer to:

Hello Mallappa,
The usefulness of the exam is relative. If you have decided to not opt for IIT or those colleges whose admission is based on JEE Mains, then there is no usefulness for you. However, if you desire to take admission in IIT's or CFI's, then this exam is simply vital. Similarly, if you are desirous of taking admission in some private universities, then again JEE Mains has no relevance.

Mains - Its another name for AIEEE or the All India Engineering Entrance Exam conducted for admissions into various IIIT, NIT and other centrally funded institutions. The decision to club AIEEE and JEE, that were conducted independently, to a single exam JEE (Mains and Advanced) was made by CBSE in 2012. Yes, it is compulsory to qualify JEE Advanced exam in order to pursue B.Tech from IIT. If you fail to qualify JEE Advanced exam then you cannot get admission in IIT for B.Tech.

Devoting one full year for JEE Mains exam preparation has its own merits and demerits. Dropping a year means that you will get sufficient amount of time to prepare for JEE Mains. It will allow you take mock-up test and help to score good ranking in JEE Mains and other competitive exams.
