see you can clear jee main with good marks without coaching but there is no guarantee that you can clear jee adv you can check previous year adv papers and you will understood.

for jee main you have prepare just your 11 and 12 class pcm ncert books and for jee adv there some additional topic which are not included in ncert books so you have to first check the syllabus and prepare for that.
