Hey Shreyas,

It's difficult to balance NEET and JEE for a gap year but is a bit achievable with proper strategy. As NEET has heavy emphasis on Biology whereas JEE is more mathematics-based, a scheduled timetable would be required on your part. Prioritize frequent subjects such as Physics and Chemistry with strong conception building. Invest additional time into mathematics for JEE and invest additional time in Biology for NEET.

Refer to NCERT books as a fundamental source and add reference books such as HC Verma for Physics. Practice previous years' question papers for both exams and perform regular mock tests to enhance speed and

Filling out the JAC Delhi counseling form does not affect your JEE Advanced counseling eligibility. You can proceed with both processes simultaneously. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, you must get a minimum qualifying score in JEE Main and meet other conditions. If you are eligible, you can take JEE Advanced counseling, whether you have undergone JAC Delhi counseling or not. Ensure that you satisfy both eligibility requirements in order to increase your chances of being accepted into engineering colleges.

At a 70 percentile in JEE Mains, you are sure to get into some of the colleges for the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) stream, but major colleges like NITs and IITs won't happen. Colleges admitting students at this percentile are Lovely Professional University, Amity University, and Chandigarh University. These colleges generally have a low cutoff and a decent ECE program. It's necessary to be involved in the counseling process to be able to evaluate your options effectively and confirm you comply with any further requirements from the colleges.

With a general category rank of 40,000 in JEE Mains, you won't find it easy to get admission into the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) branch of Delhi's top colleges. The closing ranks of CSE in a college like NIT Delhi are generally between 7,000 and 10,000. For non-branded colleges, the cutoffs can be different, but they are usually competitive as well. You can consider other engineering branches or colleges with lower cutoffs. It's better to verify the particular cutoff information on the official websites of the colleges you wish to join.

Your CRL rank represents the rank among all candidates, with your OBC rank indicating your standing among the Other Backward Classes. Colleges in general release cutoffs for different categories, giving OBC candidates some advantage: some colleges might be reachable for you whereas general candidates may not get admission in this college on the same CRL rank.

Types of Institutions: The institutions that principally accept the JEE Main scores are:

-National Institute of Technology (NITs)
-Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)
-Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI)

With an EWS rank of 8,100 in JEE Main, getting top NITs may be difficult, but you can get branches in newer or lower-ranked NITs. In 2024, NIT Srinagar had closing ranks of 47,482 (Mechanical) and 55,447 (Metallurgical) for EWS. Cutoffs change yearly based on applicants, difficulty, and seats. Participating in JoSAA counseling and checking state-level options is recommended. For exact predictions, refer to last year's cutoff trends on official websites.
