Yes, your seat will be retained even after JoSAA last round. You need to visit the allotted institute after 7th round to retain your seat. If you got any seat in CSAB then you can't get your previous seat at any cost.

No, it's not important as your float option will automatically get frozen in the last round but you have to visit the allotted institute in the given time for admission process.
